Herts Vision Loss provides support to local clubs for blind and partially sighted people in different areas of Hertfordshire. We are always keen to help facilitate the start-up of new groups. If you know of groups that should be added the list below, or you would like to discuss starting a new group in your area, please get in touch.
Hemel Hempstead Rotary Blind Club
Meets at the Hemel Hempstead Social Centre for the Blind on the 4th Monday in the month 7.30pm – 9.30pm.

Yoga classes

The Moorlands Women’s club
Meets at the Hemel Hempstead Social Centre for the Blind ALTERNATE Tuesdays from 7:30pm – 10pm. They have guest speakers and the club is an excellent way to socialise.
Visually Impaired Club for the blind and partially sighted
For people of Radlett, Elstree & Borehamwood. The Club is run weekly on Friday afternoons 1.30pm – 4.00pm at Maxwell Park Community Centre, Maxwell Rd, Borehamwood.

Contact The Elderly Sunday Tea Parties:
Supported by a network of volunteers, Contact the Elderly organises monthly Sunday afternoon tea parties for small groups of older people aged 75 and over, who live alone, offering a regular and vital friendship link every month. Each older person is collected from their home by a volunteer driver and taken to a volunteer host’s home for the afternoon. The group is warmly welcomed by a different host each month, but the drivers remain the same which means that over the months and years, acquaintances turn into friends and loneliness is replaced by companionship. Groups currently running in Borehamwood and Watford.

Rene Milton Hall, Cross Street. Jenny likes to visit possible members before they attend the group, to get to know them better. Several meetings take place each Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and alternate Thursday social evenings. A variety of social events are organised including outings, games evenings, parties, etc.

Barnet Blind and Partially Sighted Bowls Club
Bowls for blind and partially sighted, of all ages. The club meets at various greens around Barnet and Finchley on Tuesday and Friday afternoons. Coaching is available for new members.
