Support Worker for Assistive Technology Internship

Part-time, 20 hrs/week | £14.50 per hour | Hertfordshire (driving required)

Herts Vision Loss is recruiting a Support Worker to assist our Assistive Technology Intern, who is blind. The role involves providing driving support across Hertfordshire, sighted guiding, and day-to-day assistance with tasks such as note-taking, document formatting, admin duties, and visual support during meetings, training, and outreach sessions.

We are looking for someone with:

  • A clean, full UK driving licence
  • Empathy, patience, and strong communication skills
  • Good organisation and basic IT ability
  • Reliability and flexibility to support outreach schedules

Experience of working with disabled people is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a direct impact by enabling someone to deliver vital support to blind and visually impaired individuals across Hertfordshire.

Volunteering Roles

Herts Vision Loss aims to achieve positive change through supporting visually impaired community in Hertfordshire by providing training, education, care, and support.  Many people find volunteering is a good step towards paid work, if you are interested in volunteering with us please get in touch. We are always looking for active volunteers for a variety of part time roles.
