As an independent local charity, we work hard to raise as much money as we can from a variety of sources. Donations are a vital source of income for us. We rely on annual donations to deliver and grow our range of services, and make them accessible to the growing number of Hertfordshire residents experiencing vision loss. Most of our funding comes from annual donations, with rest made up from a limited contribution from Hertfordshire County Council, funding grants we are able win, and occasionally much appreciated legacy donations.
Are you able to support our work?
You can do this simply by sending us a donation, either individually or as a group. Many people are now asking family and friends to make a donation to Herts Vision Loss to mark an occasion like a special birthday or anniversary, or in lieu of flowers in memory of a loved one who has passed away.
Their are many different ways to donate; You could simply posting us a cheque, postal order, or drop a donation in to us personally at The Woodside Centre, The Commons, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 4SE.

We are also signed up to the innovative website Easyfundraising.org.uk. If you do your online shopping via their website and sign up to let them know you are supporting us, the retailers you shop with will make a small automatic donation to us every time you purchase. Donations via JustGiving
You, or family and friends, could donate online, through a service called JustGiving. This enables givers to donate to Herts Vision Loss using secure online banking transactions in the same way as making a secure purchase online. Donations can also be gift-aided through this service. You can also make online donations via the Localgiving website in the same secure way as JustGiving above. Donations via Your Mobile
Another very quick and easy way to make a donation to Herts Vision Loss is by text from your mobile; simply text HVLD17 followed by your donation amount (e.g. HVLD17£10) to 70070, it’s as easy as that! You can also gift aid your donation when you do it by text and you will also receive a “thank you” text so you know it has been safely received”. The service is called Just Text Giving by Vodafone, so it is provided through a reliable source – and every penny of the donation goes to HSB. Your text donations are free and won’t come out of any inclusive texts you have on your price plan – even if you’re not with Vodafone. You simply pay the cost of your donation – it will be deducted from your mobile phone credit or added to your mobile phone bill.
Regular Giving by Standing order
It is also possible to donate regularly through a standing order. If you wish to do this, we can let you have a standing order form so that this can be set up for however much you decide and how frequently (usually monthly or annually) and paid direct to the Society’s bank account. This may be allied, if you are a taxpayer, to gift aid to make your donation go even further.
